In January 2024, The American Law Institute (ALI) entered its second century. While the mission has not changed, it was important for the Institute to have a modern, updated look. Changes included a new logo and color scheme to recognize ALI’s history while looking toward its future.

The logo built upon the updates made for the 100th anniversary, keeping the main wordmark and introducing a new companion monogram.

The colors used in the new logo and throughout ALI materials are inspired by the Institute’s publications. New Restatements, in areas of the law not examined before, are red, Principles are green, books in the Restatement Third series are blue, and those in the Restatement Fourth series are black. Red and black were chosen as the new primary colors to reflect the Institute’s recent and future publications. Blue serves as the new accent color, representing the upcoming completion of the Restatement Third series. Green is featured on The ALI Adviser.

Additional redesigned materials, including for ALI’s quarterly newsletter and website, were released as part of the initiative.
