Centennial Exhibit

The ALI communications team produced a series of exhibits for The American Law Institute (ALI) to celebrate its 100th anniversary. The main exhibit was showcased at the Institute’s 2023 Annual Meeting. In addition to the Annual Meeting exhibit, a traveling version was hosted by several law schools across the country throughout ALI’s anniversary year. In addition to ALI’s history, the traveling exhibits featured custom pieces for each school that highlighted the institutions’ ongoing relationships.

The Annual Meeting Exhibit

For the length of its Annual Meeting, ALI reflected on the milestones achieved during the Institute’s first century with an extensive centennial exhibit. The communications team transformed an empty hotel ballroom into an immersive timeline where visitors walked through Institute highlights, including its most influential work and ongoing contributions to the law.

As art director, I designed the informational panels and identification cards as well as oversaw the production and layout of all panels, cards, supporting materials, and handouts. This process included managing the design and multimedia team as well as hands-on production and assembly.

Law School Traveling Exhibits

Each traveling exhibit was customized for the host school, including considerations for the space in which the exhibit would be displayed. For example, some schools had ample room for items and others had only one display case. Some had formal display cases; others used library bookshelves. Each space was analyzed, and a plan formulated to best display their version of the exhibit.

Each school received informational banners showcasing ALI’s founding and influential projects.

For those who didn’t have an opportunity to see the exhibit in person, ALI created an online timeline.
