The ALI Reporter is the quarterly newsletter of The American Law Institute (ALI). Editions of the Reporter include the business of the Institute, news about ALI’s members, events focused on ALI’s work, and general legal news of interest to ALI members.
The Spring 2024 issue was the first edition to feature ALI’s new look. The redesign included ALI’s updated color palette and typeface.
It was also the first issue to be distributed only electronically, as the printed edition of the Reporter was discontinued at the end of 2023. Moving to an electronic only distribution posed several challenges to the layout. One of the biggest challenges was to account for how browsers and Adobe Acrobat tend to display PDFs differently. To create a more universal experience, the Reporter now focuses on a single page layout (as opposed to a spread layout) and incorporates interactive links throughout.
The quarterly newsletter is distributed to over 4,700 recipients, including federal and state judges, lawyers, and academics. Recent editions of the Reporter, including this issue, are available on the ALI website.
