In February 2019, The American Law Institute (ALI) launched Reasonably Speaking, a podcast featuring conversations with experts on some of the most important legal topics of our time. As part of the podcast launch, Reasonably Speaking needed an identity separate from that of ALI, since the views and opinions expressed on Reasonably Speaking are those of the speakers and do not necessarily reflect the policy or position of the Institute. The identity package includes a custom logo and color palette.

The logo combines several aspects of the podcast including a microphone for the audio format, the section symbol to represent legal topics, and friendly typography to give a sense of approachability to legal topics, even to nonexperts.
The color palette is also a unique feature to Reasonably Speaking. Meant to represent multiple sides to each topic, the primary color is a striking purple.

All episodes of Reasonably Speaking are recorded by the ALI multimedia team.
Fun fact: The podcast name is inspired by the reasonable person law concept.
