The American Law Institute (ALI)’s 2023 Annual Meeting served two purposes: to further the Institute’s work and as the official celebration of the 100th anniversary. While every annual meeting is important and serves as the main gathering of the ALI membership, this year was particularly special and featured extra programming as well as a large exhibition on ALI’s history.
Preparing for the Meeting
In the lead up to the Meeting, a variety of communications, including save the date, emails, articles in ALI’s quarterly newsletter, printed invitation, and promotional videos, were sent to ALI members inviting them to attend.

Meeting Materials
In collaboration with the editorial arm of the ALI Communications team, I led the design team in the layout and production of print, electronic, and physical items for use during the meeting. Together we created and distributed materials, which included the program, stickers, handouts, signage, business report graphics, and swag bag.

The ALI Exhibit
For the length of the Meeting, ALI reflected on the milestones achieved during the Institute’s first century with an extensive centennial exhibit. The communications team transformed an empty hotel ballroom into an immersive timeline where visitors walked through Institute highlights, including its most influential work and ongoing contributions to the law.
